At the William James Foundation, we seek to increase the opportunity for individuals to find work that can sustain themselves and be of service to their communities and their planet at the same time.

Many people are called, by faith or scientific philosophy, to be of service to each other. For the rest, it should be a simple business proposition -- as David Brower noted, there is no business to be done on a dead planet. Traditional volunteerism is admirable, but far too often a luxury. By encouraging entrepreneurs who can both create their own success and show others financially viable paths to a more sustainable world, the William James Foundation is creating opportunities around the world for individuals to support for themselves, their loved ones, their community, and their planet at the same time.
